Our Story
A boutique turf business
With 30 years experience as an agronomist,
owner Lee Dendle saw the need for another turf business on the exploding Capricorn Coast. Finding 65 acres on the outskirts of Yeppoon in late 2021, it has been a labour of love, sweat and tears to bring the farm to fruition.
Located on what was one of Yeppoon's original farms, the fruit fields had lain dormant for a number of years before our turf preparation began.
From little things, big things grow. Opening for business in early 2025 with a 'boutique' 8,000m2 available, our turf supply will increase to approximately 10 acres under care in coming years.
Turf Varieties
Limestone Turf Co currently grows Queensland Blue Couch, a favourite for the warm Queensland weather.
Blue couch has an attractive blue green colour. It is known for its beautiful, lush coverage, which not only gives the customer a strong, weed resistant lawn but also provides a nice soft feel. It has good drought tolerance once its roots have grown deeply, turning slightly purple during the Queensland winter.
It is an easy to mow lawn for home owners or commercial managers, however as is the case for all turf, 'the grass is greener, where you water it'. Preparation before you lay your turf, and ongoing maintenance is absolutely key.
